“From a girl’s perspective”: What about guys who are convinced they can only date girls 10 to 20 years younger than them? What’s up with that? The guy won’t even date someone his own age and definitely doesn’t want an older woman, so what in the world makes him think the girl wants an older man. It’s crazy, but I’d say at a minimum 75% of the men whose online profiles I’ve read fall into that category.

That's why I think a lot of the game isn't as necessary to perfect as some guys think it is. We are usually well aware when we're being gamed (it's not that it pisses us off, either). It's how the man goes about it. If he's genuinely trying to act like a stand up guy, at least we feel like he's wise enough to PRETEND to respect us.

Assanova you are so spot on with the compliments. ALL women pretend to be "offended" by compliments, but it's straight up bullshit.

Even a woman like me (and you know enough about me by now) is easily manipulated by a SINCERE compliment. It doesn't have to be over the top or poetic, just come off as genuine. Compliments get men EVERYWHERE with me because it shows effort on the man's part as opposed to acting entitled to women liking him.

It's also a good way to feel out a woman's self-esteem and view of herself. Men say "that doesn't matter" to them, but they don't realize that a woman's self esteem effects everything about her from her financial income to her sexual skills.

A woman who can graciously handle a compliment with a mere "thank you" without arguing, fishing for more compliments, or putting herself down is a woman you can count on to be relatively independent financially (not a golddigger) and also be comfortable with sexuality, being open to new things, being naked with the lights ON, and things like that.
